The Gallery at Merritt Bookstore
The Gallery is a newly renovated space on the second floor of Merritt Bookstore with a modern gallery hanging system. Shows change monthly. The Gallery lists with all the local magazines and papers.Prospective exhibitors should note that a Merritt collects 20% commission for all pieces sold during the duration of the the showing.

Portraits in Pastel: Paintings by Laura Bleau
Show runs until July 30th
Laura Bleau paints in pastel focusing on portraiture and figurative works in the tradition of classical realism, working primarily from life in natural light. She studied pastel painting and academic figure drawing at The Art Students League of New York for 9 years with renowned instructors Ellen Eagle, Michael Grimaldi and Harvey Dinnerstein. She has also studied with Daniel E. Greene, Burton Silverman and Max Ginsburg.
Her work has been reproduced in two publications by James L. McElhinney and Instructors of the Art Students League of New York, The Visual Language of Drawing: Lessons on the Art of Seeing, Sterling Publishing Co., Inc., September 2012, and in The Art Students League of New York on Painting: Lessons and Meditations on Mediums, Styles, and Methods, Watson Guptill Publishing, November 2015.
